Block Paintings

Weeks have gone by with no time to post. We’ve had colds, recovering from colds and the tiny bits of life between. So, with bright skies and happy kids – I’m back.

Here are a few paintings by Elvi jo Doherty. I wish she had more of here images on the web. I picked these up from http://www.rustbeltbooks.com/. Where, if you like these you can contact them to find out what else Elvie might have made recently.

I have these tucked into the corners of tiny rooms and they sooth the space. Warm tones over wood grains make lovely gems.

Meet two dear friends, Little Tiger and Little Bear. They bumble along in their own paradise, in their perfectly clumsy cluttered home. Their warmth and love for each other triumphs always.

My heart glows every time I read these books to my son, “Trip to Panama” being my favorite. The cob webs, herbs and mushrooms drying in the most unsuspecting places…all little treats for those of us who find them. I giggle to myself just thinking about the tiny surprises.
